Start With What You're Hauling
The single most important factor in choosing a trailer is what you need to move. Vehicles, equipment, and large flat items belong on a car hauler. Loose materials like dirt, gravel, mulch, and demolition debris belong in a dump trailer. If you're hauling a car from an auction, you need a car hauler. If you're clearing a backyard of landscaping waste, you need a dump trailer. It really is that straightforward for most jobs.
When to Rent a 20ft Car Hauler
Our 2025 MAXX-D H5X car hauler has a 9,990 lb GVWR and an extra-wide 102-inch deck with diamond plate drive-over fenders. Load using the 2-foot dovetail and 5-foot slide-in ramps, or use the included 13,500 lb Rugcell winch for non-running vehicles. It's built for: transporting cars, trucks, and SUVs; hauling ATVs, side-by-sides, and motorcycles; moving heavy equipment like skid steers and mini excavators; carrying large building materials, lumber, and steel. The car hauler works best when you need a flat, open surface to strap things down. Fixed bullnose D-rings and included ratchet straps make securing loads easy. At $110/day, it's significantly cheaper than hiring a tow truck or equipment transport service.
When to Rent a 12ft Hydraulic Dump Trailer
Our Lamar MD dump trailer has a 9,990 lb GVWR with 24-inch weld-on sides that hold 4 to 5 cubic yards of material. It's the right choice for: landscaping debris and yard waste; gravel, dirt, mulch, and sand delivery; demolition and construction cleanup; concrete and asphalt removal; large property cleanouts. The hydraulic scissor hoist lets you unload without shoveling. Activate the 12-volt power unit at the trailer, the bed lifts to 44 degrees, and the load slides out through the barn door tailgate or spreader gate. At $110/day, you'll save hours of manual labor on any hauling job.
Weight Matters: Check Your Tow Vehicle Rating
Before you book, check your tow vehicle's towing capacity. Both of our trailers use a standard 2-5/16 inch ball hitch and both have a 10,000 lb GVWR. Most full-size trucks (F-150, Silverado 1500, RAM 1500 and up) can handle both trailers when properly equipped with the right hitch and brake controller. Check your owner's manual or the sticker inside your driver's door.
